HI! My name is Patty. I was looking for information on Cresteds and came across your web site. I read a lot. I really liked your Fact/Fiction and whelping info. And the ear taping! I'm a Boxer breeder & also a Veterinary Technician. I am very impressed with your web site. The way you explain things is wonderful!! Very easy to understand. And still comforting to a veteran breeder who still gets nervous at delivery time!! Thanks for all your hard work and great site. I wanted you to know it is appreciated!!!! Patty

Hi Judy,
My name is Mary Anne, and although I have wanted a Chinese Crested for a long time, I cannot accommodate one just now.  I was blown away by your website!! Your sense of humor and deep love for your dogs is SO obvious.  You obviously LOVE your dogs, and are not just in the breeding business for the money.  If the public knew just how much work, love, time etc. etc.  went in to breeding any QUALITY  animal, they would not think it was such a huge money maker would they?    I don't think I have ever taken the time to read an entire website in my life.  Yours is very educational, and SO funny too!!  Thanks for your effort.  Your dogs are spectacular!!  If you don't mind, please keep me in mind  for a puppy...or young adult  within the next year or so.  I do have a friend here in Vero Beach that is looking for a hairless female, so I am going to give her your website to check out.  Her name is Raelyn, and she can provide an outstanding home, so no worries there!   Thanks again for the education and entertainment :-)

Dear Judy,
I can't express to you just how happy I am with my little TESSIE, she is the apple of my eye! The whole experience with you has been out of this world. You are such a caring and genuine person, not to many breeders like you left! Thank you for always telling it like it is, for all your wisdom, knowledge and advice. I will never look to another breeder for a Chinese Crested. Keep going with your great web site, I love it!! Sincerely,

Julie David of Palm Beach Gardens

I happened across your site while looking at rescue shelters for Cresteds tonight and I had to send you this e-mail before I forgot. I think that Chinese Crested are the most beautiful dogs ever. I don't have one yet but I'm looking into it at the moment.  I was thinking about adopting a special little one.  I just wanted to tell you that I thought your site was wonderful and I hope that when I find my Crested that it was spoiled and as well care for as yours seem to be.  Thank you for your time and your wonderful site and the time and effort that you put into it.

Dear Judy~
I've sat here and read your whole website, I just love it...Not only is it informative but it funny too...You have beautiful dogs...I have two cresteds, I have always wanted to show dogs since I was little. So I've started this year..I was wondering...You have a section on obedience training, is their anyway you can add a page for all us newbies to showing?
I love the music too...Just wanted to let you know, what a wonderful site you have.

Dear Judy,

I just wanted to thank you for posting your website on the net; I look at it often and have found comfort in the poetry.  You see I lost my precious Tyler on November 21 and I am having a very hard time dealing with the loss, he was my shadow, my little love.  I revived him when he was a day old and hand raised him, I never imagined that I would lose him after only two years, to have him die in my arms twice is unbearable.  He was always a little stinker and even in sickness he remained so, the Vet's are still baffled as to why he became so sick, every test known to man was done on him.
Anyway, I will end my e-mail, I could go on and on about him but again I just want to say thank you for your website.

Hi my name is Lara, and first let me tell you how much I enjoyed your website. I read every word, and found your site not only easy to navigate but very enjoyable. I found everything from the Pet Poison hot line, poems, and gorgeous examples of the breed. Your dogs are absolutely stunning! Champion Sol-Orr's Unicorn Legend is to die for. I  live in Central, NJ and have no problem traveling to get a puppy.
I'd rather get the best dog, then settle for what's close and convenient. (or at least that's my opinion) I would be interested in......

Judy - this is interesting because I too have bbeen thinking of you lately - my husband will be gone 5 years this coming February and Piper will be with me 5 years this June.  He literally saved my life - I cannot tell you how affectionate he is - how loving and such a good boy.  When I take him for walks everybody asks "wow - what kind of dog is that" and he just "stuts" with his tail held high as if to say - "I am so special".  My family and friends think I am "nuts" but they too love him and spoil him rotten.  I have Chinese Crested coffee cups - note paper - magnets - Christmas ornaments and just about everything you can think of = all given to me by family and friends.  I also joined an Organization called "crest care" and have personally rescued two who eventually found wonderful and loving homes.  I hope to be down there this April and we will certainly come and visit.

I must warn you - lollllll - I know how you feel about clothes - but he is a "northern" crested and needs clothes in this weather - thus - he has a wardrobe that I wish I had - including pajamas and a bathrobe - a fur coat - boots - sweaters - sweatshirts - a raincoat - and 4 cuddle beds.  What can I say.

I will keep in touch - and please know that Piper came into my life when I thought it was over and I know that my husband and our schnauzers sent him to me.

I have been surfing website after website of Chinese Cresteds.  While I find a nice looking dog here and there on other sites, NOWHERE have I found a site where EVERY dog is phenomenal, until I came to yours.  I actually came across it by accident, when Unicorn Chinese Cresteds was listed as the photo credit under the picture of the most beautiful male (dogbreedinfo.com), so I searched for your site, where I found that same picture of Legend.  He is amazing, as are all of your dogs.  I am extremely interested in a pup from you, and no I am not in any kind of hurry.

Sincerely, Stephanie in MN.

I am so impressed with your ideas on housebreaking. We have a new puppy.
I've searched the Internet and didn't much like what I see about locking him in a crate day and night, only letting him out to go.
Your methods make a lot more sense and will work with our life style just fine. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

****************************************************************************************************************************************************************** Judy,
I want to thank you for your honestly in giving the public the facts on this breed of dog.  I have been considering a PowderPuff for months, going on various websites, asking questions from some local 'sellers' and general reading. Your site tells it like it is. This is a huge decision and not to be taken lightly. There are too many pups in rescue organizations because of misinformation. If I make the decision to raise a Chinese Crested pup I would definitely want his early years to be with you. I can not tell you how many times I have been told that they do not shed and they are easy to housebreak yet every dog at the rescue org. is not housebroken.  I do realize that the dogs are not totally to blame but reading your web makes me understand WHY small dogs have a problem. Thank you so much for all of the information you include with your website, your obvious goal is only to do what you love and improve the breed...thank you!!! Anne R

Dear Judy,
First I want to say how impressed I am with your site.  It is so detailed and I could just feel the love you have for your Chinese Crested.  In the past I had a Pomeranian that I purchased from a pet store.  My dog passed away from cancer and had other problems that the vet felt it was related to coming from a puppy mill.  So I have decided to only buy from a breeder from here on out.  I have always thought Chinese crested are the most adorable dogs and I am interested in the hairless type.  I have read a lot on the breed and your site was also so informative.
Also it was great to see that you live in Sarasota, because I live in Cape Canaveral.  So it would be very easy for me to get to you.  Please inform me of any litters you may have now or in the near future.    I look forward to hearing from you soon.
        Sincerely, Susan
****************************************************************************************************************************************************************** Hi Judy! I love your webpage!  Funny and entertaining and serious and full of information.  Lovely pictures and I get a feeling that your dogs are loved.  I love the poems too!  Hope ya'll had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I come and visit your site again!

They are really good little puppies. They sleep all through the night. They're learning to walk on a leash and they are certainly lighting up our lives. Thank you for taking the time to breed these little miracles. I wish you many more years of joy with your Chinese Cresteds. They are very special to us and I think our friends and neighbors think we're slightly bonkers.   But they all think that Cubby and Misty are adorable.   Sally and Rod

Hi, We spoke on and off over the summer months. I did do something stupid. I was buying a powder puff puppy from that woman who you referred to as not trustworthy. Well she proved to be just that. All the testing she did BEFORE breeding the dogs....*cough* What a lie! She never tested anything on any of her dogs. She lied about the age of the bitch. I find info that shows her bitch is less than a year old at the time of breeding. Said her bitch was 4 points from a title, she never showed the bitch...ever. She came up with wonderful excuses (more like a pity me cop out when I confronted her) and then had the nerve to call me foul and vulgar names like I was the one who did something wrong. She also tried to amend the contract for the puppy and told me I couldn't have it unless I agreed to her new terms, and I reminded her that any amendments had to be made in writing and agreed upon by both parties, and that I would not agree to any additional terms, and she would either refund my money or stand by the terms of the contract she wrote up. At that point she deemed me to be unfit for her puppy, so she said she would refund my money. She also said it would take her 60 days or when a pup sells to refund my money...because money doesn't come out of thin air! And that is just a small bit of the things that breeder tried to pull on me.

I have always despised telling someone that they are right about something, but I felt that I needed to let you know that you were very right about that breeder, and I should have put more thought into your subtle warning. You were absolutely right and I should have listened! If I had listened, I would not have been through all the stress of dealing with that person. I just hope that the next person she deals with isn't as big of a sucker as I was. I just thought I would let you know that you were right. I will begin looking for a new puppy and know now more things to look for. I thought I knew it all. Boy, was I wrong. Thank You Judy Sincerely, Nessa

Hi Judy,

We call our new girl, "Tess," the little lioness.

You were right, our new puppy "Tess" is truly a beautiful, outgoing & confident girl.  She really has presence.  We are so tickled with her.  It's as if she has been with us all along.  Lucille has taken to Tess as if her own pup or little sister (which she is!).  The two of them race down the long gravel driveway and tear around the orange trees and yard until they are exhausted.  Tess is so curious about our young chicks and ducklings and just sniffs them and doesn't know what to do next.  Such innocence.  And the other dogs have immediately accepted her which has a lot to do with her strong personality.

Her character really surfaced yesterday when we went jogging with the children in the jogging stroller.  I harnessed all the dogs and Tess kept grabbing the end of the big dogs leashes as if she was fishing for a dog and proceeded to try and pull them around.  You had to see it.

Tess sleeps with either Gabriel, our 4 year old boy, or me in the bed and she does not stir and just cuddles until morning when it's time to go out.  She is very well behaved for a puppy.

Judy, our new puppy is a perfect match.  Thank you.

Best Regards,
Karen

********************************************************************************************************************* Dear Judy,

It's hard for me to go to work in the morning.  I have to get up much earlier than usual so I can catch the Gunner Show each AM. He sails thru the house about 20 times, then plays "boxer" with the cats.  They sit on the couch (all 3) and bat each other with the paws.  Gunner is still only about 5 lbs and the smallest cat is 13 lbs. THEN, depending on who wins, it's a race-a-thon with the winning 2.  He is so fast, he blurs a movie camera.  You said the bigger ones are more doggy- he's VERY doggy.  While he looks adorable, he's a very macho creature.  That's part of what makes him so funny.  The looks and personality are oxymoronic.  Even Maria (his trainer) keeps saying she's always amazed when she works him that he acts like a big huge male dog.  He has a "junk-yard" personality-scrappy and doesn't take any s___, just sweet about it unless someone gets in his "personal zone".  He definitely isn't a foo-foo, he just looks like one! He is on a leash everywhere (I never carry him) and his only conception to beauty is a gold choke chain (the small ones didn't come in silver!!) I've given up on his heating pads. He never gets on them.  He shakes from the air conditioning, but refuses to quit playing and warm up (I have them all over the house.  The cats love 'em!  Vet says he's as healthy as can be, so I stopped worrying about a cold.  I can't thank you enough for picking the perfect creature for me.  He is well loved and seems happy with me (and his big, black Rotty girlfriend).  Will send a pic as soon as he stands still long enough for one! When Ziva (Rotty) is tired out, he sits sideways on her, like she's a giant couch!

Thank you so very much,
Pam and Gunner

We just celebrated Tippy's third birthday. She is a powderpuff blk/wht.  My children & I came to see you from Fort Myers and then we got on a waiting list, until the right puff girl came around. We could not love her more. She is also a favorite of many neighborhood kids and adults.  She has been to obedience school and agility school with me and excelled in both where she was a teachers pet and natural show off especially in agility.  If ever you need a testimonial about the benefits of doing exactly what you said to do in terms of training,  I'm your lady.  I did everything, including tethering for the first ten days ! I also love the tip about rewarding them after pottying by letting them off leash and making a big game out of running after "MOM" back to the house.  She is a very fast pottier and that has really come in handy with travel and in the rain.  I also bell trained her & that has been the biggest single thing that I can think of, that is a must.  Here's why,  it gets everybody else involved in taking her out.  If she rings the bell ( it is by the back door in our family room)  and one of the kids hears it,  it is hard to ignore a simple request like that.  My husband will also not ignore her ringing and I venture to say if that were not in place,  her responsibilities would fall on me and luck to guess when she wants to go out.  With this , it takes the guess work out and therefore we absolutely do not have any mistakes in our home.  She has brought so much into our lives and I just wanted you to know how much we appreciate you sending her ,with her little brain " set up "  perfectly. Thanks, Jon, Beth , Harrison &  Lane
